art works      exhibitions      links      information Dan Roe.  Mosquito no. 2 (2003).  Solar engine, steel, 8" x 4" x 2 1/2" Description: This minimally designed sculptural robot is entirely solar powered, so it's autonomous in energy acquisition.  It is also autonomous in control since it employs a simple open source 1381 solar engine  circuit.  As with all my work, this sculpture is designed with open source circuits and off the shelf technologies (including o-rings and hose clamps).
